"Beauties of Iowa" - Susan Partain
June 2 - 29, 2023

Exhibition Description:

This selection of Susan Partain's art reflects her enjoyment of Iowa. Susan says, "It's amazing to me the great variety of flowers. trees, terrain, and yes, even bugs! Iowa has so much to offer—rich, rolling hills of crops, incredible sunsets, bountiful history, and communities of warm, sincere people. Come enjoy Iowa with me."

About the Artist:

Susan Partain, a Florida native, studied art at Florida College where she was exposed to the wide variety of artistic media. After marriage and a move to Montana, she continued her education at the University of Montana. Her education included studies with nationally and internationally known television artist Jerry Yarnell. Under Yarnell’s tutelage, Susan felt “like a thirsty sponge,” coming to an appreciation that every artist brings something different to the art world. As time moved on and Susan continued perfecting her skills, her children moved to the Burlington area. Then, about ten years ago, Susan and her husband moved to Iowa from Montana to be nearer grandchildren. In retirement, she is getting back into the art world and looks forward to future projects. Many of the subjects for this current exhibit include flowers from her own Iowa garden.
