Extend the life of your wardrobe and embrace sustainable fashion with this introductory mending class taught by members of the Central Iowa chapter of the American Sewing Guild. This hands-on class will cover sewing on a button, helpful stitches for repairing broken seams, and re-stitching a torn hem. You will also learn a few decorative stitches to sew around sewn-on or iron-on patches. Each participant is encouraged to bring one item that needs mending, so the sewing experts can coach you through mending it. Sewing kits and fabric scraps for practicing will be provided. No sewing experience needed. Registration required.
