Calling all crafty engineers! Get creative with the Library's LEGO collection or make a Perler bead design. Drop in any time during the hour-long program.
For kids in grades K-12. Elementary-aged kids should be accompanied by an adult during the program.
Registration is not required.
This exhibit is a collection of pieces by the students of Tingting Beck’s Sunflower Fine Art Studio, located in Waukee. Students range in ages from 4 to 16 years old and are all from the Des Moines metro area. Their artwork covers a large variety of mediums, including pencil drawing, color pencil drawing, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, oil painting, mixed media, and digital design.

Students are invited to participate on the library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB). TAB meets weekly to help plan teen programs, sign up for library volunteer opportunities, build leadership skills, and suggest teen books to be purchased by the library. Email our Teen Services Librarian, Ryan ([email protected]) with any questions.
For students in grades 7-12.
Discover a different STEAM activity each month! We will discuss the activity and have hands-on experiment time. This month we will explore construction challenges.
For students in grades 4-6.

Calling all artists! The Waukee Public Library is holding a bookmark design contest. Use any two-dimensional art technique to create a bookmark masterpiece. Turn in your submission throughout the month of March.
A winner will be chosen from each age category: 0-5 years, K-5th grades, 6-12th grades, and adult. Winning designs will be printed and distributed in the library during National Library Week in April.
